Jazz Who? is Carlo Alfonso’s debut original album, a bold artistic statement shaped by modern jazz language, Afro-Cuban roots, Latin identity, and a fearless contemporary spirit.
Through this project, Carlo brings together rhythm, virtuosity, groove, and emotional depth in a sound that feels refined, alive, and unmistakably personal. More than a collection of songs, Jazz Who? introduces a new creative chapter built on original composition, strong musicianship, and a vision of jazz that feels vibrant, evolving, and deeply human.

The concept behind Jazz Who?
The title Jazz Who? carries both irony and intention.
It responds to the idea that jazz is something distant, outdated, or disconnected from today’s world. For Carlo Alfonso, jazz is not a museum piece, it is alive, expressive, global, and still capable of surprising people.
With this album, Carlo presents jazz through his own lens: rooted in tradition, shaped by Latin and Afro-Cuban influence, and open to the energy, movement, and creative possibilities of the present.
Sound & Artistic Vision
At the heart of Jazz Who? is a desire to create music that feels original, personal, and deeply connected to identity.
The album brings together modern jazz expression, Afro-Cuban and Latin rhythmic language, strong melodic writing, and moments of groove, color, and cinematic energy. It does not approach jazz as a fixed formula, but as a living language, one that can carry rhythm, culture, elegance, intensity, humor, and emotion.
Through Jazz Who?, Carlo Alfonso presents his voice as a saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, shaping a sound that feels sophisticated, bold, and full of character.
A new creative chapter
More than a release, Jazz Who? marks a defining creative chapter for Carlo Alfonso.
It is the beginning of a body of original work that presents him not only as a performer, but as an artist with a distinct point of view. The album brings together his background, his influences, and his creative direction into one statement: Jazz is not gone. Jazz is not finished. Jazz never left the chat.

Jazz Who? features an exceptional group of musicians whose talent, artistry, and creative spirit helped bring this recording to life.
Each artist contributed a distinct voice to the album, shaping a sound that feels rich, expressive, and deeply connected. Together, they bring power, nuance, rhythm, and color to a project built on original music and shared musical trust.
