The Artist Behind the Sound

Carlo Alfonso is a saxophonist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer whose music brings together modern jazz language, Afro-Cuban roots, Latin identity, and a deeply personal sense of groove.

Born into a multicultural background with Cuban and Mexican roots, Carlo’s musical voice has been shaped by movement, curiosity, and a lifelong connection to sound. His work reflects the meeting point between tradition and individuality,  a place where jazz, rhythm, melody, and personal history become part of the same language.

As a performer, Carlo is known for his versatility and expressive presence. In addition to saxophone, he plays piano, clarinet, flute, EWI, electric bass, guitar, and multiple woodwinds, allowing him to approach music not only as an instrumentalist, but as a complete creative architect. His sound is refined, energetic, and rooted in a strong sense of musical identity.

Carlo has performed across a wide range of stages and musical settings, from jazz festivals and live concerts to studio recordings and major performance opportunities. His artistry continues to grow through original music, collaborations, and a clear commitment to creating work that feels honest, modern, and alive.

His debut original album, Jazz Who?, marks a defining creative chapter. Built around original compositions, strong musicianship, and a bold visual identity, the album presents Carlo not only as a performer, but as an artist with a distinct point of view. Through Jazz Who?, he challenges the idea that jazz belongs only to the past, offering instead a sound that is vibrant, personal, global, and fully present.
